TMS International Safety Incentives
The Challenge
TMS International is a global corporation with over 4000 employees in 80 locations across 19 countries. Their business focus is on pre- and post-production mill services for global steelmakers.
CoreCentive was selected to reinvigorate an existing employee safety program that had lost the positive impact that employees became accustomed to. The gift selection available for points redemption was very limited and did not represent a good value for the employees. The technology utilized by the previous vendor provided limited functionality, and was unable to adapt to the growing needs of TMS.
The Safety Token program at TMS International has been a staple for dedicated employees who spend many hard hours in steel mills. The employees receive monthly awards for exhibiting safe behavior and going above & beyond. They look forward to receiving these “tokens” and they typically accumulate their points and redeem during the holidays.
The Solution
By partnering with CoreCentive they were able to revolutionize the program and drive more engagement amongst their employees.
CoreCentive was able to provide TMS with tens of thousands of gifts at a fair price, but also worked proactively with TMS, providing numerous great ideas on how they could improve the program and increase the program’s visibility from a management perspective.
CoreCentive worked with TMS to proactively put in place elements to assist TMS leadership such as:
- Summary reports by time frame by locations
- The ability to create “pooled” points by location so termed employee points can go back into the system
- Created an attendance program to further drive performance and engagement
- Monthly communication with managers to update employee status
